If we don’t have a challenge, life gets boring

This past weekend I went to Advance 2020, where I got a fantastic opportunity to connect with roughly 40 guys from all walks of life but one purpose of getting closer to God. I picked up a lot of different nuggets. The one that comes to the forefront of my mind is if we don’t have a challenge, life gets boring.

Each one of us likes to watch some competition. Even though I’m not much of a sports person, when I see sports on TV I can’t help but admire the acts of courage, mainly when it’s a close game.

My ideal competition would be the one that I’m down, but I am assured to come back and win. Life doesn’t work that way. We have no guarantees, so the next best thing is to put up a good fight, even when we are losing, precisely because that people we admire the most have done the same.

Another nugget I picked up at the Advance 2020 is what truly defines us is our next choice. So I better make a choice that makes me grow, for if we don’t have a challenge, life gets boring.

What are you doing to challenge yourself? What is your next choice going to be?
